Teacher Script
Hello children! Today we’re going to learn about a special young boy named Samuel from the Bible. But before we start, let’s play a game! Can you tell me what this tool is? (Show a French press). That’s right, it’s a French press! It’s used to make coffee. Everything has a purpose, right? Just like this French press, God has a purpose for each of us.
Today’s story is about a young boy named Samuel who lived in the temple. One night, something strange happened. Samuel heard his name being called. He thought it was Eli, the priest, but it was actually God calling him! God had a special plan for Samuel and told him what he would become when he grew up.
Even though we may not know what our plan is yet, God does. He knows us by name and he loves us. We can listen to God by going to church, reading the Bible, and praying. Just like Samuel trusted God’s plan, we can trust that God’s plan for us is good.
Let’s end today with a prayer. (Lead the children in a prayer thanking God for his love and plan for us).
