This coloring page by Mandy Groce shows the great difference between King Herod and the Baby King Jesus. It would be a perfect edition to our Bible lesson based on Matthew 2:1-12. It brings to light the false glory of human kings, and the real glory of God’s humble born Son.

This coloring page shows “Two Very Different Kings” one side pictures arrogant King Herod with his fancy clothes, buildings, servants, etc. The other side showing the humble manger with baby Jesus coming with poverty, dangers, and homelessness. It’s partly inspired by Mary’s Prayer in Luke 1.

(51) He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts; (52) he has brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate; (53) he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent empty away.

You could talk with the children about the contrast between God’s Power and Human Power.

This could be used for an Epiphany Bible Lesson.
